


Japanese born Yuki and Tomoko emigrated as children to the United States. They each received recognition as piano soloists while studying with Flavio Varani and Joyce Adelson at Oakland University and with Louis Nagel at the University of Michigan. In 1994 they melded their artistry into an award winning piano duo. Performing in Japan, Poland, Sweden, Canada and the United States, they have been hailed for the power and virtuosity of their playing.
In 1998 the sisters were awarded First Price and Kodama
Prize at the Fourth International Piano Duo Competition. Yuki and
Tomoko have also been prize winners at the Ellis Two-Piano Competition
and the Murray Dranoff International Two-Piano Competition in Florida.
They have been featured artists in the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival
in Michigan, Symposium for Two Pianos in Florida and the International
Two-Piano Festival in Canada.
Yuki & Tomoko have been heard on PBS live from the
Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago. They have released
two highly acclaimed CD albums, Rhapsody (1997) and American
Mosaic (2000).
