Marcus Belgrave is Detroit’s internationally recognized jazz trumpet great. He came to prominence in the late ‘50’s, touring and recording with Ray Charles’ Orchestra. In his concerts he brings to life Louis Armstrong’s bravura trumpet innovations. He can hit the high C’s, loves stage banter, and even looks a little like Armstrong. For our series he is going to add a touch of gospel/spiritual jazz. Since his appearance on our series in 2007 there has been many requests for his return. We are delighted to bring him back.
